The festival of lights
(Republished from my earlier published from medium.com ) Festivals in many traditions and religions bring a lot of joy and hope. Deepavali as it’s called i n South India or Diwali in general across India is such a joyous festival. Preparations for such festival in family starts early with a lot of purchasing for everyone,new clothing, gold jewellery, sweets, fire crackers , etc. Whatever is the original purpose of such festivals, the spirit of joy, togetherness with family, friends and neighbours irrespective of their faith, creates an egregore of harmony and hope. The global pandemic and other natural calamities in the past have shown how feeling of humanity and oneness comes out of every one and shoes a possibility of how the world can be irrespective of the differences.
